History:
Peninsula
Day Care Center, located at 525 San Antonio Road, Palo Alto,
California, is a private, nonprofit organization, founded
by former ministers and business owners, Herman and Mary Jo
Shaw in 1974. Starting with 6 children and a vision for a
center where children would receive loving care with creative
programs designed to enrich and stimulate their social and
academic growth, PDCC now serves close to 400 children from
ages 2-1/2 through 6th grade.
Schools
Served:
As our center grew, we saw the need to provide transportation
to and from the childrens neighborhood schools. We started
with one van, but now have a fleet of buses and vans.
We
meet all school schedules at the following schools:
Palo Alto: Briones, El Carmelo, Fairmeadow,
JLS, Palo Verde.
Los Altos: Almond and Santa Rita.
Mountain View-Whisman: Bubb, Castro,
Graham, Huff, Crittenden, Monta Loma, Theuerkauf and landels.
Our buses
receive the highest grades from the CHP during yearly inspections.
Our drivers are fully qualified and trained to meet CHP standards
with current First-Aid certificates.
